LAST WEEK’S RECAP | September 28-Oct 4, 2015

SATURDAY
I finally got to see a player whose daughter is now 5 months old. I’m glad he got a little break and got together with his buddy for a little tennis fun. They both shook off their rust after and hour or two and were wiped out by the end of the third hour, 2 young guys! It’s a compliment to me that they lasted 3 hours. Hope it won’t be another 5 months before they stop by again.

SUNDAY
It was beautiful weather for our last Sunday party of the season. Everyone really enjoyed it.

As players were hanging on the deck during their off hour, I was making up matches and counting the number of lefties at the party. A regular from Jersey City said one night I put him in a match with 4 lefties, the next hour with 3 and then next with 4 again. The regular from New Milford said “It’s an advantage for lefties in sports and that’s why many of them go into sports.” Another regular from Kinnelon joined in on the conversation and said “No one likes to play lefties [in tennis?] and so it’s good to put them all together.

It was sad to say goodbye to a former partyger who moved to California. His 3-week visit has gone so quick. His family, friends and I all hope that he will move his business operations back to NJ so we can see him again, for he’s just fun to be around. Let’s see….
